Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 September 2026

BalancesOut does not receive your bank statements. This is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse — it is how the product is built. The PDF is read by code running inside your own browser, and the text never leaves your machine.

What happens to a file you convert

When you drop a PDF onto the page, your browser reads it from your own disk and parses it locally. No copy is sent to us, to a cloud service, or to any third party. We never see the document, the transactions, your bank, your account number, or your balance. Exports are generated in your browser and saved straight to your downloads folder.

Nothing is stored between visits. Close the tab and the file is gone from the page; we had no copy to delete.

What we do store

We do not hold your card number. Payment details are handled entirely by PayPal, on PayPal's own pages, and are never transmitted to or stored by us. The checkout page loads PayPal's payment script, which may set PayPal's own cookies under PayPal's privacy statement; no other page loads it.

Analytics and tracking

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing. If we ever add basic traffic measurement, it will be a privacy-preserving method that does not profile individuals, and this page will say so before it is turned on.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to support@balancesout.com. Because the only personal data we hold is tied to a purchase, deleting it may mean we can no longer reissue a lost licence key. Records we are legally required to keep for tax purposes are retained for as long as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not make a change that retroactively weakens the central promise above — that your documents stay on your machine — without making it unmistakably clear.
