Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
These terms cover your use of BalancesOut (the "Service"), operated by the operator of BalancesOut. By using the Service you agree to them.
What the Service does
BalancesOut reads bank statement PDFs in your browser and converts them to CSV, Excel and QBO files. Conversion, verification and export all run locally on your device.
Accuracy, and what you must check
The Service is a conversion tool, not an accountant or an auditor. It reports what it was able to verify against the statement's own arithmetic, and it tells you plainly when a statement gives it nothing to check against. Those reports are there to help you judge the output — they are not a guarantee that the output is correct.
You are responsible for reviewing converted data before relying on it for accounting, tax, lending, legal or any other purpose. Do not file, submit or certify figures you have not checked.
Your files and your account
You must have the right to process any statement you convert. You agree not to use the Service unlawfully, and not to attempt to circumvent licensing, resell licence keys, or share a single-user key beyond the seats you bought.
Plans, pages and payment
- Free use is unlimited for conversion, verification and CSV export.
- Paid plans unlock Excel and QBO export. Page allowances apply only to those formats.
- Page packs are one-time purchases and do not expire. Your order is accepted when the licence key is issued, which normally happens within a minute of payment and is confirmed by email; nothing is shipped.
- You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's consent, to buy.
- Subscriptions renew each month until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply in your location.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Because conversion runs in your browser, a page you have already loaded keeps working even if our site is unreachable.
Support for new statement layouts
Banks format statements differently and new layouts appear constantly. The Service will refuse a layout it does not recognise rather than produce figures it cannot stand behind. We add layouts on request where we reasonably can, but we do not promise that any particular bank or document will be supported.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of BalancesOut is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on converted data you did not verify. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Who operates this service
The registered business name and location of the operator will be published here before any payment is taken; until then paid plans are closed. Reach us at support@balancesout.com.
